Fees and Process

Starting therapy is a big decision, and it is always a good idea to take time to find a therapist that will be suitable for you personally. Once you have contacted me, either by email or through my contact page, we can arrange an initial ten-minute telephone or video consultation at no charge. This will be an opportunity to introduce ourselves and to find a time for a consultation.

During the first consultation we will be able to discuss what brings you to therapy, and I can learn more about your family history as well as your current relationships and support networks. I will also give you information about psychodynamic psychotherapy and answer questions you may have. Often two to three consultations are a good idea as it gives time for you to have an experience of what the therapy will be like. It also allows time for us both to see whether working together will be beneficial for you. We can then decide how the treatment will progress; whether short-term psychotherapy, or something more open ended will work best in your situation. Long-standing difficulties are likely to need a more deep and open-ended approach. For some, psychodynamic therapy may not be appropriate and, if that is the case, I will help you to think about what could be more effective for you.

I work with most of my clients in person and offer online vacancies for clients who are not able to be in the room.

Sessions are 50 minutes and fees are agreed during the consultation process.

I also offer some reduced rate vacancies for students and people on low incomes.
